West Bengal introduces ‘Rupashree scheme’ for marriage of poor girls

The West Bengal government has rolled out Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s dream project ‘Rupashree’ which provides one-time financial support to the marriages of poor women. ‘Rupashree’ scheme follows the chief minister’s ambitious ‘Kanyashree’ project which has drawn global applause. The application form for the ‘Rupashree’ scheme has been made available since Wednesday last across the state. ISRO losses contact with communication satellite GSAT-6A

The Indian Space Research Organisation today lost contact with the GSAT-6A satellite. The control room at the SHAR spaceport in Sriharikota is making concerted attempts to re-establish the link with the satellite. In a communique on its website, the ISRO said after successful long-duration firings, when the satellite was on course to the normal operating configuration for the third and final firing, scheduled for April 1, communication from the satellite was lost. Delhi becomes first city to roll-out BS-VI fuel

Delhi, the National Capital of India has silently switched to BS VI grade fuel ahead of the 1st April 2018 schedule. India has now become the second largest mobile phone producer in the world after China as per Indian Cellular Association. ICA shared the data with the Ministry of Information Technology on the basis of market research firm IHS, China’s National Bureau of Statistics and Vietnam General Statistics Office. Union Cabinet approves re-structuring of NSDF and NSDC

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given its approval for restructuring of National Skill Development Fund (NSDF) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to strengthen governance, implementation and monitoring framework.
